The War within the Arab World
The Middle East is in chaos. The political unrests brought by the gradual decay of despotism has been sweeping the Arab World . And it is still spreading like a wild wire. Just very recently, Libya has called for a ceasefire amidst the looming intervention of the United Nations in an attempt to thwart the growing and the grueling political and military turmoil that has engulfed the nation. The world has witnessed how Egypt ousted a dictator who's been in power for a little more than three decades. Pockets of skirmishes from all over the land has also drawn the attention of the international media and everyone with a television saw how unsightly the events were.
It made everyone think. The supposedly strong rule afforded by the dictatorship seems to be waning and that it has gradually become a trend. People have become more politically responsible and have grown courage despite threat and coercion.
What has caused this abrupt twist in the nature of leadership in the Middle East remains uncertain to some. Could it be due to the rapid and the mounting influence of democracy or simply because people finally found their feet and have become brave enough to stand with it and cry for freedom?
There is no definite answer and to come up with one can be an ordeal. So the world is still left hanging with questions. The only astute reasoning lies upon the fact that these leaders have been in power for a long time . So it will be safe a generalization then that people have gone tired of being enslaved by leaders who are greedy of power, who would resort to violence to cling on it even at the expense of the very people they ought to serve.
